Your Role: Making an Impact

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will:

  • Ensure Accuracy: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and oversee reconciliations for Fixed Assets, Payroll, Intercompany, and Inventory.
  • Drive Excellence: Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and systems aligned with international standards and compliance regulations.
  • Audit Support: Facilitate annual external audits and internal audits by providing required documentation and responses.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sectional Accounting Manager and Group Head of Accounting to implement robust internal controls and support compliance across departments.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing year-end statutory and consolidated financial statements under IFRS.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated professional with:

Experience & Knowledge

  • Essential:
    • At least 5 years of general accounting experience.
    • Strong technical accounting background.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in utility or infrastructure sectors.
    • Familiarity with multi-company operations in the UK.

Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical and problem-solving expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to diverse cultures.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Team-oriented yet capable of working independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting trends and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Essential:
    • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • Professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CMA, CA, ACCA).
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
