Your Role: Making an Impact
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will:
- Ensure Accuracy: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and oversee reconciliations for Fixed Assets, Payroll, Intercompany, and Inventory.
- Drive Excellence: Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and systems aligned with international standards and compliance regulations.
- Audit Support: Facilitate annual external audits and internal audits by providing required documentation and responses.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sectional Accounting Manager and Group Head of Accounting to implement robust internal controls and support compliance across departments.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing year-end statutory and consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated professional with:
Experience & Knowledge
- Essential:
- At least 5 years of general accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting background.
- Preferred:
- Experience in utility or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with multi-company operations in the UK.
Skills & Competencies
- Analytical and problem-solving expertise.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to diverse cultures.
- Proven ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Team-oriented yet capable of working independently.
- Knowledge of accounting trends and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Essential:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CMA, CA, ACCA).
- Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
