What it’s like to be a Gas Metering Engineer
You’ll receive your own company van, and once fully trained, you’ll be self-sufficient - travelling from home to your planned jobs each day, with the radio or a podcast for company.
You’ll be given high levels of autonomy in your role and be responsible for your own:
- In accordance with the industry code of practices, carry out the installation, removal, and exchange of Industrial and Commercial gas metering systems.
- To always conform to industry standards and internal policies and procedures
- Form part of the national emergency response team
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance
- Carry out site visits and surveys and feedback to stakeholders and customers.
- To protect the public, their property and property belonging to Energy Assets Ltd and customers.
- The timely, accurate capture of data and completion of all necessary documentation associated with the work activity including risk assessments and method statements.
What it takes to become one of our Gas Metering Engineers
To be considered for this position, you’ll need at least 2 years experience with Gas Metering and to have knowledge/experience working on low & medium pressure gas projects.
We’re looking for candidates that have any of the following qualifications: CMA1/CESP1, CMET1, CMET2, MET4, TPCP1/1A, ICPN1.
You’ll need a full UK driving license, so you can get about in your own van, and you’ll need to be comfortable using a mobile phone too – since all of the logistics for your day will be co-ordinated using a company provided mobile.
You’ll need good communication skills too as you’ll have short interactions directly with customers at each job and be required to liaise with colleagues across our wider business.
